Telecom Premise Installation Technician

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Experienced with Aerial and Buried copper cable maintenance and repair
• Provision VoIP/Video/Broadband services over Copper facilities from Line side of Central Office, DSLAM or Remote Terminal to the NID (Network Interface Device) at the Customer Premise
• Experience with inside plant ( Cat 5 Installation, Fishing Walls, etc) and outside plant (Aerial, Buried, Load Coil, Bridge Tap, Splicing, etc)
• Complete work orders in a timely fashion with a dedication to quality installations and customer service
• Experience doing this type work for an ISP, ILEC, LEC, or CLEC
• Experience with running and terminating Cat 5 cable inside homes or offices
• Experience using JDSU HST-3000 test equipment or similar to test Copper and Broadband

COMPETENCIES

• Prior experience working in residential and commercial locations
• High School diploma or GED required
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds and handle a ladder
• Current and valid driver’s license
• Use of hand tools, Power Tools, Specialty tools, meter, (i.e. multi-meter, volt-ohm meters, Sidekick, JDSU HST-3000 (Copper and Broadband)
• Exceptional Customer service skills
• Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and background check
