Telecom I&R Technician

ABIS Solutions is seeking experienced Telecom Premise Technician or I&R Technician candidates that have the skills below. This is a Long-Term contract role that provides hard working and skilled Technicians with the ability to earn what you’re worth.

We will discuss how the pay breaks down with all qualified Technicians.

Local candidates are always preferred but will offer Per Diem for candidates outside the area.

LOCATION Buffalo, NY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Experienced with Aerial and Buried fiber/coax is preferred
Provision VoIP/Video/Broadband services from the street to the NID (Network Interface Device) at the Customer Premise
Experience with inside plant ( Cat 5 Installation, Fishing Walls, etc.) and outside plant, running feed from the street to the NID
Complete work orders in a timely fashion with a dedication to quality installations and customer service
Experience doing this type work for an ISP, ILEC, LEC, CLEC or Cable Provider
Experience with running and terminating Cat 5 cable inside homes or offices
Experience using JDSU HST-3000 test equipment or similar to test Broadband

COMPETENCIES

Prior experience working in residential and commercial locations
High School diploma or GED required
Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential
Ability to work independently
Current and valid driver’s license
Use of hand tools, Power Tools, Specialty tools, meter, (i.e. multi-meter, volt-ohm meters, Sidekick, JDSU HST-3000 or similar
Exceptional Customer service skills
Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and background check

Ability to lift 50+ pounds and handle a ladder
