Job Summary

Technical Systems Analyst for gathering Business requirements, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. PLIT Department is currently going through some major transformations both from a system and process standpoint and the role demands being agile and adapting quickly.

Essential Job Functions

Provides expertise in the design of Personal Lines Business applications in Functional and technology initiatives specific to P&C Insurance and Rating.
Understands customers/business processes, products and how they fit within the goals of the business unit and designs and develops the solutions.
Reviews and validates detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements
Acts as liaison between Business and IT, supports users in building Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan.
Supports the implementation activities; performs impact analysis of application changes across various components; holding an end-to-end view of the system.
Recommends Integration, Performance and Parallel testing criteria.
Performs quality review checks on project deliverables
Performs impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system
Estimates and validates Rough Order of Magnitude from suppliers for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality
Reviews and implements technical design with external vendors for implementation.

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum, and seeing.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or commensurate and demonstrable

Experience Requirements

Experience must include 6 to 8 years of designing and developing Mainframe and J2EE applications for Insurance Industry.
Project Experience must include New Product Implementation and Rating for Property & Casualty.
Technical Design and Programming experience in COBOL, CICS, DB2, EASYTRIEVE, REXX, MQ series, Java, AION and Blaze is mandatory.
Working experience in Clear case, Remedy, Endeavor, Rational Application Development (RAD) tools is required.
Must also have experience with the following: diagnosis and trouble-shooting; simultaneously working on multiple projects; researching using code and data queries; presenting project updates and analysis to technical audience such as developers and testers as well as non-technical audience.
Must be able to adapt to Waterfall, Iterative, Agile and Scrum methodologies.
While development Experience in Guidewire, Gosu, Linux, HP Extreme, eSignature, Silanis, Filenet, Ratabase is not required, it will be highly considered as an added value and experience.
