Job Summary

Provides expertise in the design and functionality of business applications; Understands business processes and products and how best they can be supported by the application systems; Supports the implementation activities, troubleshooting user/system environmental issues, and training as required.

Participates in Program Increment Planning and creates Team Program Increment Objectives. Collaborates with the Product Owner to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria. Writes/develops the code and creates unit tests and automated acceptance tests. Works with the Product Owner to confirm that the code and acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality. Conducts research, design, prototyping and other exploration activities as an Agile Dev team. Contributes as agile team member for continuous exploration, continuous integration and continuous deployment practices necessary for building the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and implementing DevOps.

Essential Job Functions

Understands customers’ processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the business unit.
Reviews and validates the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; Validates suppliers estimates.
Estimates Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality.
Performs quality review checks on project deliverables.
Acts as liaison between Business and IT, as assigned.
Supports users in building Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan.
Supports the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues, training as required.
Experienced in Scaled Agile framework and contributes to the team as an Agile Team member.
Breaks down the features into user stories and delivers working code in each Sprint.
Designs and writes the code to meet the respective Program Increment objectives.
Performs impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system.

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent or specific relevant experience.

Experience Requirements: Level II: 5 years of experience in application development / testing or business / system analysis role or 2 year as an Application SME Level I.

Special Skill Requirement

At least 5 years of experience in application development using mainframe technology (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, EASYTRIEVE, etc.).
Working experience of TMF (Table Management Facility) and RATABASE Administration is must.
Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance Industry and knowledge on policy premium calculation or rating concepts is desirable.
Experienced in facilitating in-person and remote meetings with Business & IT resources.
Experienced in effective management of multiple competing and frequently changing assignments and priorities.
Exposure to agile methodologies (Scaled Agile Framework), testing automation & continuous integration.
Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
Effective time and priority management.
Quick learner, self-starter, organized, and detail oriented.
Effective problem solving skills.
Ability to explain complex concepts/issues in simple terms.
Ability to identify and appropriately escalate issues/risk to management for direction.
