Technical Support Analysts

• Must have good technical skills with interested in becoming experienced business analysts and subject matter experts.
• Work with clients in designing, developing, and troubleshooting new and existing software programs and applications.
• Skill set requires utilizing tools such as SQL Management Studio, SSRS, Power BI, Decisions, with a good understanding of data related technologies.
• Communicate with support personnel, developers and IT to assist in resolving issues with software applications.
• Define, develop, and document application’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project by project basis in collaboration with internal users and external clients.
• Define project plans, including scope, schedule, and implementation
• Write and code software programs and applications in accordance with business requirements
• Design, run, and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
• Provide verbal and written project status reports
• Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines
• Train end users to operate new or modified programs
• Research emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering or related field OR equivalent education/work experience
• 2-5 years of experience with VB .NET, Visual Basic 6, SQL Server, Source Safe and other programming languages
• Upstream Oil and Gas industry experience highly desired but not required
• Experience with report writing and business intelligence tools (ie: SSRS, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Analysis Services, etc.)
• Previous experience with upstream oil and gas software
• Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans
• Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and members of interdisciplinary teams
