Job Description

Job Summary:

FLIR Systems in Bozeman is a leading supplier of high quality and next generation crystalline laser materials. FLIR manufactures laser rods, slabs, and other components for applications in Medical, Military, Industrial and Scientific markets. The Technical Planner will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the shop master schedule; order entry, review, and planning; cost analysis, inventory maintenance, vendor communications, and other duties as required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with the development and maintenance of the shop master schedule. This includes analysis of supply and demand requirements.
• Review all incoming purchase orders. Work directly with sales, production supervisors, and manufacturing manager to develop product routings and basic drawings for custom orders.
• Create, release and print production orders.
• Assist in the maintenance of raw material inventory.
• Maintain databases for vendor quotes, discrepant material, etc. through data entry.
• Create and revise manufacturing processes and documentation as required.
• Maintain/create materials in ERP system as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct analysis and reporting for on-time delivery data, material standard cost, manufacturing KPI data, capacity and throughput, etc.
• Assist with order entry, vendor communications, and shipping.
Job Qualifications:
• Associates degree (or higher) relevant to manufacturing or demonstrated equivalent experience
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
• Excellent communication and organization skills
Other Qualification:
• 2+ years’ experience working in manufacturing with progressive responsibility
• BS in engineering or business, or related experience preferred
• Technical background and familiarity with mechanical prints and tolerances
• ERP experience, SAP experience preferred
• Experience with MS Access database creation/maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical/cost/schedule constraints to achieve customer satisfaction
Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):
• No supervisory responsibilities
Working Conditions:
• 0-10% travel
