JOB SUMMARY:
Quantel USA is looking for a highly-motivated Laser Engineer to join our design team in Bozeman Montana. This role will focus on the design, development, and experimental optimization of diode and lamp-pumped solid-state laser systems and optical subsystems. Background in nanosecond, picosecond and femtosecond lasers highly desirable , as well as in non-linear harmonic and parametric generation of such lasers. Other responsibilities would include supporting the Engineering Group with new product definition and designing and building specialty laser systems. This position is based in Montana but may require occasional travel to customer sites worldwide and to Quantel in France.

This position requires laboratory experience in laser assembly, diagnostics and test. It also requires proficiency in the following disciplines:

Laser physics and non-linear optics including laser modeling to identify gain and non-linear materials and techniques needed achieve required performance and cost.

Solid-state laser design and modeling including passive and active Q-Switching.

Building, optimizing and characterizing of laser systems.

System level and component level diagnostics of laser related production issues.

Documentation, including technical reports, optical component specifications, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
