Systems Administrator II – MES

Location – Bismarck, ND; West Fargo, ND; Gwinner, ND

This position will be responsible for installation/configuration, 24/7 operation, security, and maintenance of server hardware, operating systems software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that operating systems, software systems, infrastructure, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and uptime.

The key objective of this position is to lead the administration of the Apriso Flexnet server environment across all Doosan Bobcat sites globally. This includes server and storage infrastructure, monitoring systems, and backup systems. This position must also have working knowledge of IT ticketing systems and the ITIL processes. Experience with Apriso Flexnet is not necessary as training will be provided.

The person must have knowledge of virtual computing, preferably familiar with the VMWare family of tools. Windows Server 2003-2016 and Redhat Linux are the operating systems maintained in these environments. Oracle databases are also widely implemented. Knowledge of Paessler, Zabbix, Commvault Simpana backup tools, and group policy is also desired. The candidate must have knowledge of network load balancing. The successful candidate does not need to be an expert in all of these tools but should be familiar with the conceptual value of each tool.

This position also includes more development and automation related duties such as; configuration management, project management, system implementation, and legacy system upgrades. This position must also maintain a strong working relationship with both onshore and offshore delivery resources.

Role & Responsibility

Implement security tools/follow policies / procedures as directed by the Director of Security.

Protect against unauthorized access, modification / destruction of data.

Secure company assets / personal information.

Implement comprehensive security / trusted architecture. Intrusion detection, ACL’s, Firewalls, Encryption / related technologies requested by the business.

Maintain: installation/configuration operational or other procedures.

Contribute to / maintain system standards.

Manage SSL certificates / assist with SSL cert process/general

Monitoring/maintenance of server infrastructure companywide.

Use advanced troubleshooting / monitoring tools to resolve issues quickly.

Interpret/analyze compiled data from systems.

Server infrastructure performance evaluation/optimization to identify capacity needs.

Coordination with offshore resources to ensure “follow the sun” support.

Apply OS patches/upgrades regularly.

Upgrade administrative tools / utilities.

Configure/add new services as necessary.

Support, maintain, upgrade legacy systems.

Manage/build terminal service environments

Manage licensing for various systems – Windows, VMware,Linux, etc.

Develop new automation for Windows / Linux systems using tools such as Altris, group policy.

Periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

Ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades / resource optimization. Configure CPU, memory / disk partitions as required.

Interpret / discuss technology information / concepts that may not be familiar.

Provide guidance / advice / recommend actions involving complex issues.

Job Requirement

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology; Management Information Systems

Working knowledge of VMWare virtualization & Vcenter, Windows & Linux systems, SQL Server & Oracle databases.

Provide / support physical / virtual servers.

Server security, web/application certificates experience

Understanding of backup / storage technologies / tools.

Demonstrate solid PM skills.

Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking.

Manage multiple projects, activities/tasks simultaneously.

Willing to work outside normal business hours

Customer focused with the ability to effectively plan / organize.
