Summer Internship – Data Analytics

WHO’S IN THE KITCHEN

Interns joining our Data Analytics team will develop actionable insights about our rapidly expanding customer base and the broader meal kit marketplace. Interns will work closely with business and technical teams to proactively identify gaps in our knowledge base and product offerings, while closely monitoring and reporting on key metrics and KPI’s for different areas of the business.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent quantitative and verbal/communications skills who is passionate about making sense of data using any available methods. They will have an eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a keenness for problem solving. They will be excited about partnering with different functions across the company and learning new methods of analysis, and strive to produce rigorous, clear, and well-documented work.

• Leverage “big data” analytical techniques to unearth customer dynamics and provide actionable intelligence about our business.
• Collaborate with data engineers to better understand and mine our data warehouse
• Carry out descriptive analysis of key trends in consumer behavior according to business needs
• Measure the efficacy of ongoing initiatives to acquire new customers and/or enrich customer engagement

NECESSARY INGREDIENTS

• Candidate for a BA in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Economics) or enrollment in a MS/MA program focusing on quantitative methods (Data Science, Statistics, etc)
• Some experience working with very large data sets, including data analysis, data visualization, data mining, and data cleansing/transformation.
• Beginner to intermediate coding skills, including some combination of:
• Data manipulation skills in SQL
• Data visualization (such as Excel, Tableau, Python, R)
• Some experience performing analysis with large datasets
• Interest in expanding analytical toolkit in SQL, Python or R
• Ability to communicate insights verbally, visually and in writing.
• Curious and meticulous, with the patience to dig into murky datasets and carefully document your work
