Substitute Teachers

are needed at the elementary (K-5) and middle school (6-8) levels. Massachusetts licensure preferred, but not required. Experience working with students at these levels is a plus. When known, substitute teachers will be contacted ahead of time, but substitute teachers should expect to be called on the morning of or the evening before an unanticipated teacher absence.TO APPLY TO BE ADDED TO THE WAYLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS LIST, please complete the Substitute Teacher Application available on our website at: www.wayland.k12.ma.us/employment/substitute_teachers, and provide a copy of your resume.

Inclusion on the Substitute Teachers List is also contingent upon favorable review of a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a national criminal background check through the Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification Services (SAFIS) Program. Applicants for substitute teaching must appear in person at one of the schools or the Central Office to sign a CORI request authorization and present a government-issued photo I.D. (e.g., license or passport).
