Corps Center, located in Riverton Wyoming, is operated by Management &

Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located on

the second bench above the Wind River Valley, the Center is one of the largest

employers in Fremont County. Our staff teach approximately 300 youth,

ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employability, and social skills

they need to become prepared for successful careers. A Job Corps campus

is like a mini-city or small college campus. It has classrooms, dormitories, a

dining hall, recreational, and medical facilities. Training is open entry, open

exit and can last up to two years. Students work at their own pace, guided by

academic and career training instructors who are committed to their success.

Wind River offers students training in ten vocations: accounting, carpentry,

petroleum technology, building construction technology, heavy equipment mechanic,

heavy equipment operations, heavy truck driving, office administration, accounting and welding.

Essential Functions
Reports to the student personnel officer. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to the student personnel function in accordance with government and management directives.

1. Under the direction of the SPO, assist students in resolution of judicial issues.

2. Maintain and track negative incident reports, student contracts, student payroll deductions and student bus tickets in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines.

3. Record student behavioral actions and dispositions in CIS.

4. Assist the SPO in coordination of student incentive system.

5. Process student violations, leaves, excuser codes and termination files in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines.

6. Prepare center review board packets and center review board minutes.

7. Perform other general clerical duties including but not limited to typing, correspondence, form letters. forms, reports, etc.

8. Proofread, copy and file documents., process incoming and outgoing mail, answer telephone and receive visitors.

9. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.

10. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.

11. Participate in student employability programs and activities.

12. Support, promote, and enforce Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.

13. Promote the development of Center Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behavior’s through interventions.

14. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience required. Excellent written and verbal communications sills and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
