Strategic Partner Development Lead, New Business Development, Partnerships

You cultivate these existing partnerships to make sure they can take full advantage of Google’s ever-growing suite of offerings. You possess strong relationship-building skills and are apt to see mutually beneficial opportunities with partners in order to best represent our users, products and programs.

As a Strategic Partner Development Lead, you will engage with the largest, most strategic partner prospects in the market. You will manage the new business from end-to-end, including understanding market dynamics, evaluating new partnership opportunities, conducting partner outreach, negotiating term sheets and agreements and driving to execution. You possess strong relationship-building skills and are skilled in managing contractual, technical and financial issues with prospects in order to best represent Google’s users, products and programs. Additionally, you thrive in a collaborative and team-based environment, working closely with the internal industry thought-leaders to provide the most value to our strategic partners.

As a Strategic Partner Development Lead, you will pursue, negotiate, structure and close complex agreements with top-tier prospects, leveraging Google’s ad monetization and platform product suite (AdSense, Ad Exchange, DoubleClick for Publishers etc.). You will also collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams including Product, Tech, Legal and Finance on developing new product innovations designed to expand Google’s partner base, deepen relationships and drive additional business growth streams.

Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The team partners with Publishers and App Developers of all sizes to promote their ad inventory, working with Google’s broad range of partner solutions including AdSense, DoubleClick Platform Solutions and the Ad Exchange, across mobile, display, and video formats, helping our partners and their audiences get the most out of the web. In addition, the Partnerships team supports Google’s own product teams with essential partnerships to help power Google’s user experiences in search, maps, travel, shopping, payments and more.

Responsibilities

  • Keep up to speed on market trends and innovations as it applies to Google partners and products.
  • Negotiate complex agreements to increase penetration of Google’s ad products with our partners.
  • Lead cross-functional deal teams and present deals to executive management.
  • Collaborate with Product on innovation and testing of new ad products for the market.
  • Lead agreement negotiations working closely with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Legal, Finance, Google Technical Services and others).

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of business development experience in an internet, tech or media company.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA and/or JD.
  • Experience in negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Creative thinker; ability to apply market and consumer dynamics to our evolving business.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies. Sharp strategic acumen and ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and high degree of comfort in presenting and escalating business issues to senior leadership.
  • Highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent and collaborative.
