Embedded focused software development engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible to create solutions and products that are applicable for Building Automation Systems. The incumbent will be expected to design, develop, and verify solutions that are real time based, and which use communications over Serial, Ethernet and Wireless data links.

You will be working with a team of software engineers, performing activities that could include any aspect of the software engineering lifecycle, examples of which are described below.

  • Designing, documenting, and reviewing communications and real time based software applications.
  • Implementing designs using various coding languages and development environments.
  • Writing and executing unit tests.
  • Developing proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Providing work estimates.
  • Analyzing, trouble-shooting, and providing code fixes for reported problems and change requests.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum a BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong written verbal and communication skills.
  • Able to quickly learn new processes, software tools, and programming languages with minimal direction.
  • Real Time Systems programming
  • Object Oriented Software design skills including UML, Design Patterns and STL
  • Knowledge of Multi-threading, socket communications.
  • Minimum 10 years of programming with one or more languages (C, C++, Java);
  • Process-oriented.
  • A working knowledge of BACnet, web services along with other communication protocols would be considered as a distinctive advantage.
