Staff Accountant

In fulfilling the Firm’s mission, the Staff Accountant performs a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks utilizing clients’ records, financial statement engagement procedures, and certain tax services. The Staff Accountant supports the Firm’s goals and values through all professional communications and the maintenance of positive working relationships.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares schedules and account analyses, work papers, and other accounting work as requested.
• Reconciles accounts such as cash and accounts receivable to supporting records.
• Performs bookkeeping and write-up services.
• Prepares payroll tax returns and business and personal income tax returns.
• Prepares depreciation schedules and maintains expertise in related software programs.
• Prepares Property Tax Returns and Sales Tax Returns.
• Prepares, mails and controls confirmation requests.
• Assists in entering data into pro-forma financial statements.
• Supports departmental personnel as required.

Other Functions:

• Supports training of team members, offers guidance and direction.
• May supervise and review work of Tax Interns.
• Participates in community involvement as needed or requested.
• Maintains acceptable sales, writing, communication, interpersonal and other human relation skills.
• Supports departmental goals, policies and guidelines.
• Participates in other administrative activities or other duties as requested by the Partners, Directors and/or Managers.

Ideal Candidate has approx 3 years of experience in an accounting function with similar responsibilities. Preference given to candidates with experience in professional services settings.
