Role Summary

This position will provide support across the global revenue team by reviewing client statements (invoicing, rebate processing, client maintenance), preparing a variety of journal entries and account reconciliations, providing analytic review of financial statement accounts, assisting with finance projects as they occur, and assisting with internal and external audit requests.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Participate in month-end close processes such as preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations across various accounting functions. This includes effective self-review of work performed, researching discrepancies, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Provide support and analysis of transactions impacting the business by gaining an understanding of transaction flow and dependencies; ensuring recordings are consistent with US GAAP.
  • Prepare and/or review invoices (payables and/or receivables) to ensure timely and accurate payment or cash receipt and recording in the general ledger. Identify outliers and proactively seek resolution.
  • Participate in accounting projects as needed.
  • Assist in organizing and providing key documents to internal and external auditors.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Required: BS Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year experience or familiarity with month-end close processes in order to understand key processes and interactions
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time, communicate effectively, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP; IFRS is a bonus.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely, with efficiency, in basic accounting areas, with a desire to grow significantly
  • Basic knowledge of the Asset Management industry
  • Prior billing experience a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Strong team player with willingness to assist others in the department as needed, including at times simple or manual tasks
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to negotiate with and professionally influence others
  • Strong follow through and problem solving
  • Ability to identify the need for change and the initiative to make it happen
