Sr. z/OS Systems Programmer-Regulatory Reporting, Online, Batch

The Fidelity Regulatory team is seeking a Systems Programmer to join our organization. This person will provide development and production support activities for the z/OS MQ/WAS. A strong candidate will have previous z/OS Systems Programming experience, strong problem solving skills, strong communication skills, strong organization skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced, production critical environment.

It is a fast paced, dynamic environment. The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work well with others and communicate software changes to business partners, system analysts, QA engineers, etc.

While the current location for this role is in our Manhattan office, there is a possibility that it could be moved in the future to Jersey City, NJ

The Expertise we’re looking for

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a IT related field

Experience in a z/OS systems support organization

5+ years of development & production support experience

Expertise with the following technologies: z/OS,

Cobol, CICS,

JCL, WebSphere Application Server on z/OS, VSAM, MQ, SMP/E,

File-Aid, EZTrieve, Intertest,

Control-M (nice to have)

Database Technologies DB2 and SQL

Knowledge of Agile, Jira and QC11 or higher preferred

Interested in expanding skills to include distributed application (

Java)

You will be responsible for development and support activities related to mainframe applications which will include new regulatory changes, enterprise wide initiatives. Additionally, you will be responsible for standard maintenance and after hours production support activities on a rotating basis.

The Regulatory Reporting is a development and production support team within Fidelity Brokerage Technology Organization (FBT). The goal of this team is to provide Tools and Resources to our Business partners to reduce the risk of over/under reporting transactions processed across the different trading platforms.

The Regulatory Reporting Application team, part of (FBT) supports the Capital Markets Organization in processing significant amounts of detailed trading data to various governmental and industry regulators such as FINRA, the SEC and MSRB. The regulators use this information to monitor brokers, and their customers for front running, insider trading and other illegal trading behaviors. The application team is responsible for development, performance, and production support activity of the different work flows related to TRF, MSRB, TRACE, OATS, INSITE, Rules 605 and 606, Electronic Blue Sheets, and LOPR and Short Interest. The oversight performed by FCM Regulatory Reporting helps to ensure the reporting provided to multiple regulators is accurate and complete. Issues with reporting can lead to inquiries, disciplinary action or fines.
