Sr. Technical Program Manager

Role Description:

VMware’s Hands-on Labs Program is a successful global program delivering cloud based product pre-sales and education services to over 400K users taking 900K labs per year. The program spans across all of VMware’s business units and field sales teams across the globe. Your work will have a direct impact on VMware’s business and you will be part of a large and active global community of customers, partners and volunteers. Job Responsibilities:

• Drive the success of VMware Hands-on Labs releases for both physical and online events.
• Drive strategic direction and execution for the Lab Manual Localization program.
• Be the Jira/Confluence Champion for over 300 Hands-on Lab developers, helping evangelize, educate our users, and gather feedback for driving excellence.
• Independently and accurately report on the state of your release to executive partners. Be the trusted advisor on all aspects of the release during key checkpoint reviews
• Work with event planners on logistics, schedule and staffing.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience running software engineering in R&D-focused project/program management.
• Practical experience in Agile methodologies and experience running SaaS projects.
• Unique skills in developing productive working relationships across the globe, influencing and delivering results despite high complexity, ambiguity and challenges.
• Strong sense of ownership. Engage to remove program obstacles, and willingness to go above and beyond to make your programs successful.
• Ability to synthesize strategic solutions to interdependent and broad problems.
• Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in as dynamic environment and motivate change across VMware groups.
• PMI/PMP certification is highly desirable.
• BS in Computer Science or related technical degree highly desirable.
• Some international travel as business needs arise.
