Sr. Project Manager

Job Summary

Adaxa Technologies is looking for a Sr Project Manager to join our team!

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of assigned projects. You will create project plans and budgets, maintain project documentation, created detailed reports and monitor the project performance, identifying risks and executing corrective actions. You will also work closely with the client on a daily basis to ensure project progress and maintain constant communication. The Senior Project Manager may also assume the role of Scrum Master for one or more teams. As a Scrum master, you will support the Product owner and the Scrum team with respect to creating and maintaining a product backlog, removing impediments and ensuring successful planning, execution and completion of Agile team ceremonies.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Scrum master
  • Assessing the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Supporting the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Ensures successful planning, execution and completion of agile team ceremonies such as planning, review, retrospective and backlog management.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress
  • Project management
  • Create project plans and schedules for assigned projects
  • Create a project workspace for project documentation and other project artifacts.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify potential risks, execute corrective actions, and devise contingency plans.
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Ensuring that the standard tools are used in an appropriate manner.
  • Create and distribute weekly executive status reports on all active projects
  • Work with both business and technical teams in order to ensure the delivery team has what they need in order to be successful.
  • Work with other teams to improve our process and procedures to ensure we operate as efficiently as possible.
  • Coordinates communications, escalates and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product development initiatives.
  • Define and negotiate appropriate project scope.
  • Manage all Client communications and flow of deliverables.
  • Play a key role in managing the client relationship. Work closely with the client on a daily basis to ensure project progress and maintain constant open communication.
  • Contribute to PMO process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in project management.
  • Certified Scrum Master Certification.
  • Strong understanding of lean/agile development methodologies.
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team.
  • Proven track record in full software/system development life cycle from requirements gathering to post-implementation production support, including quality assurance and system integration.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and energize people to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Jira (or similar) for managing Agile development projects
