Our Surface Chemistry Business Unit is one of the world’s leading specialty chemical manufacturers of surfactants, polymers and solvents, providing innovative surface chemistry technologies and solutions in industries such as agro, asphalt, cleaning, fabric care, mining, personal care and petroleum.

AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry- has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Process Excellence Lead – Supply Chain. The Senior Process Excellence Lead – Supply Chain, actively manages to improve performance, lead standardization, lead organizational change management, program management, optimize processes, tools, data, and people capabilities.

Improve performance – Improve the BU (Business Unit) strategic ISC(Integrated Supply Chain) KPIs via process standardization and digitalization at all sites in the BU.

Lead standardization – Globally integrate and embed the standard ALPS (AkzoNobel Leading Performance Systems), processes, data and tools in Operations.

Lead organizational change management – Lead change of operational and functional excellence throughout the BU ISC function. Asses and train key users and other site/functional focal points in relevant ALPS processes, SAP, MES, EPI Scheduler and other tools.

Optimize processes, tools, data, and people capabilities – Lead the improvements of business processes and tools on behalf of the BU towards BA ALPS core teams to continuously improve standard processes. Provide in depth knowledge in business, process, data and tools. Organize the support to deliver the required improvements including capability building and necessary training.

Program Management – Manage global programs to move sites and functions to World Class levels.

This position could be located in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX

Specific Tasks:

  • Leads process standardization and digitization to achieve World Class Supply Chain Operations

  • Proactively seeks, leads and implements improvement opportunities

  • Improves the level of knowledge and training in Supply Chain and Operations Departments

  • Lead change and foster an operational excellence culture at all SC sites and ISC functions

  • Ensure sites and functions working according to World Class Standards

  • Liaise with ISC MT members to improve and automate KPI management

  • Govern ALPS and other BU programs being deployed in the BU to safeguard end-to-end efficiencies

  • Liaise with IM CoE to ensure process excellence solutions are built on solid IT solution architecture

  • Safety Role Model

  • Substantial travelling (minimum 50%)

Job requirements/Candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree, in Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, Business administration preferred

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of hands on experience with SAP implementations

  • Experience as implementation lead for key SAP and MES modules

  • Experience in managing projects

  • Deep experience working with SAP (Super/Key User) – required

– Experience with Supply Chain and Manufacturing Execution platforms – preferred

  • Good understanding of ALPS (internal candidates)/Manufacturing Operating systems

  • Good Multi-cultural skills and change management

  • Strong communicator

  • Able and willing to travel (minimum 50%)
