Sr. IT Analyst, IT Development Commercial Team

As a Senior IT Analyst at Seattle Genetics, you will have the opportunity to join a team of IT professionals partnering and supporting the technical needs of our Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, Risk Management & Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, as well as our Sales & Marketing departments. As you partner with these organizations, you will provide technical consultation, project leadership from inception to implementation, IT GxP validation execution, and administrative support to assigned systems. The position requires solid technical understanding as well as verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to clearly communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities:

  • The Senior IT Analyst is responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of IT applications
  • Ensure that implementations are completed in a timely and quality manner in accordance with our standards and our internal customer’s success criteria
  • Conduct business analysis, requirements definition, systems analysis and application administration tasks
  • Perform project and team administration activities – scheduling meetings, publishing agendas and meeting minutes, communicate project tasks and timelines
  • Assist in the development of project plans in MS Project and be accountable to conduct work according to the plan
  • Communicate issues, solutions and progress to project and program management
  • Requisition application servers and assist in application installation
  • Participate in GxP validation/qualification of systems including writing, reviewing and executing validation protocols
  • Represent the needs of our customers to the solution vendor(s)
  • Develop effective working relationships with our internal customers and vendors during project meetings, on-site visits and conference calls
  • Must demonstrate a high level of composure, professionalism, and knowledge of IT solutions, application management through various product cycles and business environments, and be able to identify risk and recommend applications and technology to address internal customer needs
  • Ability to negotiate conflicts and complex issues to an expeditious and satisfactory resolution for both our internal customers and vendor (s)
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing situations
  • Advise management on technical and process issues
  • Alerts all team members of critical path milestones on the project plan for assigned applications
  • Assists our internal customers in developing working scenarios for testing
  • Has had responsibility for all aspects of an implementation of a product(s) including leading training, workshops, and documentation preparation

Qualifications:

  • 10 years’ experience in software deployment, business analysis, project management, process improvement and computer systems validation
  • Multiple software deployment and software upgrade projects
  • Familiarity with biotech/pharma business processes and applications
  • Experience with Pharmacovigilance systems, Oracle Argus understanding desired
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in workflow design
  • Has knowledge of Analytical tools (SAS, Microstrategy, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Experience with Clinical Trial Management tools
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of application architecture to include application servers, web servers, configuration files, relational databases, SQL and reporting applications; Programming skills in Microsoft .NET, C#, SQL Server, MS Access and VBA a plus
  • Experience configuring SharePoint desired
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of internal applications and databases
  • Strong understanding of ETL practices
  • Has experience in the management of software post activation: support, upgrades and enhancement rollouts
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interface and influence at multiple organization levels
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Monitors and ensures budget targets are met and provides feedback to project management for adjustments needed
  • Has knowledge of essential tools (Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Maintains productive and positive interpersonal relationships within IT
  • Experience in implementation process improvement in order to achieve a higher level of proficiency and to make the implementation a more cost effective task
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Business, Computer Science,Engineering or related discipline, and 6+ years of progressive business experience
  • 6+ years experience in supporting and implementing large scale IT solutions
  • Familiarity with GxP and ICH regulations and 21CFR, Part 11
  • Demonstrated facilitative leadership skills
