Sr Informatics Analyst - Medicare / Medicaid

** LOCATION REQUIREMENT: You must reside within commuting distance (car/train) to the NYC office as this position does report into the NYC office 1-2x’s each week. Telework part time.

Exciting opportunity to develop new cross functional business unit within Aetna. Utilize your advanced analytical skills with the new cross-functional Medicaid & Medicare business unit supporting DSNP.

Fundamental Components:

Create ongoing processes designed to support the needs of the DSNP program and the DSNP operational requirements.
Liaison with Stars analytics, quality, marketing and sales, operations, markets, network, and other operational areas regarding data needs and reporting
Coordinate with other analytic areas in business segments, shared services, markets to define needed reporting and analytics across markets
Integrate data from all sources to produce core duals product reporting – operational performance, shared service SLAs, compliance performance, other
Support quarterly and annual MOC performance data analysis
Support CMS and State Reporting

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

3+ years of relevant programming or analytic experience.
Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of health care claims, products, and systems.
Experience in working in a data warehouse environment as well as the ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources.
Strong SQL and SAS programming skills (e.g., SAS Base, SAS STAT, SAS Macros)
Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods (SAS, SQL, OLAP, Business Objects, Crystal).
Experience in statistical analysis and database management.
Understanding of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Solid Understanding of complex databases and UNIX or mainframe environments.
Deep knowledge of health care industry, policy, research design, univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, predictive modeling, case-mix and risk adjustment methods and tools.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Able to present information to various audiences.
Knowledge of other reporting platforms such as: Business Objects, Microsoft Access, web development technology, big data analytics, data mining, Visual Basic.

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
