Sr. Director Commercial Reporting & Analytics

The Senior Director of Commerciale Reporting & Analytics plays a key leadership role on the Commercial Excellence & Execution team providing thought leadership and bringing strong business spirits business knowledge to the Commercial business. The role is responsible for leading and developing a team of skilled experts in business & customer performance reporting, analytics & insights, that supports the broader commercial organization and National Customer Sales teams. This role is responsible for building and leading consistent, reliable and actionable sales and execution reporting & analysis. To be successful in this role the candidate must possess the skills to champion reporting and analytics tools & processes that enable sales and deliver value to the commercial P&L. In this role you will support Bacardi USA planning processes, which will require coordination across the Commercial & Corporate functions. This role has both internal and external customers, so you must possess the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives. This role is considered a building role and a part of succession planning for other core leadership roles on the commercial team, including the VP of Commercial Excellence & Execution.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Drive results & excellence in execution

Owns Commercial sales, consumer pull & distributor execution reporting and analysis for Bacardi USA

Owns the integrity & completeness of all commercial data, must work cross functionally with Commercial services team to ensure the data is complete and accurate for period end reporting

Owns the development, enhancement and governance of reporting and commercial analytics business processes

Leads the Commercial reporting, analysis process and cadence for the commercial business reviews, which includes National scope, Business unit scope as well as global and board performance analysis projects that is required of the Commercial Excellence Team.

Leads the monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting of sales depletion, depletion NSV, consumer pull, distribution and other execution measures that drive company Commercial Priorities.

Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly national business reviews within Bacardi and with all distributor partners (SGWS as well as all distributors in Franchise states, as needed)

Leads the development and execution of Commercial Analytics, driving a culture of measure and evaluation, that supports and drives insights to action for both sales, customer marketing and at times brand teams.

Leads a team that supports BUSA National Customer Sales teams, providing customer reporting, performance & analytics with insights that will create winning results for our brands in National On & Off Premise Customers.

Responsible for the development of predictive analytics modeling, working with cross functional teams such as Commercial Services, Commercial Execution, Commercial Performance & external partners

Leads Commercial involvement in the S&OP process, including joint distributor planning processes, monthly meetings, reporting & analysis

Enables change through consistent application of reporting methodologies across all markets and distributors, will manage and create standard commercial reporting the supports the greater organization

Collaborates with IT and Commercial Services team to develop best in class Business Intelligence and reporting tools, ensuring the business requirements are well developed and communicated

Builds and foster solids business partnering relationships with internal customers & external (distributor) partners

Is the key Commercial reporting and analytics contact for North American planning, includes active involvement with Customer Marketing, FP&A and Operations as the financial and commercial plans are built. Developing and driving the timelines for reporting of analytical inputs into the planning process and reporting against our achievement of such objectives

Lead, develop and mentor the members of the team, providing leadership and continuous coaching to ensure high performance behaviors and results

Ensure implementation of learning and development plans and sustained learning for everyone on the team

Ensure that your teams have the resources and assets needed to deliver desired results.

Build and foster a solid business partnership with the FP&A VP, Operations and relevant internal and external customers to understand business requirements and maximize effective decision support

Member of Integrated Business Planning COE, providing thought leadership and the reporting & analytical expert on commercial projects and initiatives

Measures of success

Performance:
Deliver a suite of standardized commercial reports on a monthly, quarterly & yearly basis that include but not limited to the following: BUSA Commercial Priorities, Depletion & Depletion NSV, National Incentives, Consumer pull (Nielsen, Nabca, IRI), DISCUS, Market Track/Feature Vision, National Customer performance, External distributor execution and Nielsen Execution measures

Deliver a comprehensive commercial analytics & insights support model that drives insights to action for our Commercial Performance, Sales and National Customer teams.

Business Reporting & Analytics: Owns the development and management of the commercial reporting calendar

Business Reporting & Analytics: Works with the Commercial teams to deliver timely and accurate reporting on the business results in accordance with the established business cadence

Ensure consistent analysis and reporting of the business performance across the business units

Commercial Analytics: Ensures a clear & concise understanding of the implications of the depletions results to the Bacardi P&L through the S&OP process

Customer reporting & Analytics: Deliver reporting, analysis and commercial insights to the national customer sales teams, with the objective of beating the competition and growing BUSA brand share, deliver analysis on key promotional efforts such as VAP & other program effectiveness models.

Execution Reporting & Analysis: Deliver a suite of reports and analysis on execution performance which includes predictive analytics modeling, with an output that enables fact-based planning and selling for our sales and customer marketing teams. Talent: Lead, coach and develop direct line subordinates instilling the company’s Core Values, Founders Mentality & developing career advancing leadership capabilities. Financial: Responsible for planning, executing & managing the Commercial Strategy & Execution Team budget, the teams Travel & Entertainment, along with other specific project budgets

Knowledge / Skills:
A well organized, high energy, detail oriented, and persistent leader with the ability to identify/focus on key issues, prioritize efforts, and ensure follow up with timely/quality results

Strong analytical skills and insight generation required, must possess the technical capabilities to lead a team of highly skilled reporting & analytics experts with extensive knowledge of Beverage industry syndicated data.

Possess a track record of serving as a business partner to the executive & senior leadership team with the ability to influence key business decisions and track performance against key objectives.

Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications within Commercial team, finance and with the broader organization at all levels throughout the organization; and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

Ability to think strategically, develop frameworks and platforms that ensure optimal and unfettered access to corporate tools, assets and capabilities for Bacardi’s commercial organization and dedicated distributor divisions.

Ability and desire to translate complex analytical concepts to individuals at all levels in Commercial, finance and broader organization, including external customers and distributor partners

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous and fast paced environment – flexibility, team oriented, collaborative work style and a positive attitude

Has a strong knowledge of business intelligence tools, applications and familiar with working with IT departments.

Ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy utilizing strong analytical and organizational skills

Must possess strong customer focus and understanding of the customer (distributor & retailer) landscape Work experience requirements –

10+ years of related work experience; consumer goods / beverage alcohol experience beneficial.

Experience in a strategic or communications/support-related role highly preferred

Experience in Bev/Alch industry sales leadership (supplier and or distributor)

Experience with syndicated data sources, such as Nielsen, TDLinx, IRI, Market Track, NABCA, etc.

A strong understanding & technical ability of Excel (other BI Tools) data analysis, insight generation

Experience leading and influencing cross functional teams, supervising and developing others, or managing external consultants.

Related experience in commercially oriented role, where front line engagement, understanding, collaboration, and customer focus was needed to be successful Education

Bachelor’s Degree or higher

MBA a plus

Fluent English (Oral & Written) The following experiences are preferred:

Experience in the Spirits and/or Beverage industry

10+ years of leadership of Reporting and Analytical teams is essential

Proven ability to lead, influence and get results in cross-functional work environments

Fluent written and spoken English
