About Us:

AppliedTrust is the IT consulting arm of ViaWest based in Boulder, Colorado, that helps companies in the areas of Infrastructure, Security, and Opensource. We literally ‘wrote the book’ on UNIX and Linux System Administration and pride ourselves on world-class technical excellence. We are expanding our business into Oregon, and we are looking for qualified candidates to lead this new practice out of our parent company’s (ViaWest) data center in Hillsboro. Out-of-state travel will be minimal.

About You:

• Passionate about Information Security and IT in general
• A history of solving complex issues, and mentoring junior-level engineers through the same
• Interest in learning new skills and keeping pace with changing technologies
• Ability to problem solve and work with others to find the best solution
• Precision in your work and attention to all details
• On-point, genuine interpersonal and written communication skills
• Capability to work independently and self-motivate
• A commitment to providing our clients with 100% satisfaction
• Four or more years of hands-on infosec and/or system administration or system engineering experience
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, PCI QSA, etc. are considered a plus

What You’ll Do:

AppliedTrust serves a wide variety of clients, from global Fortune 1000 companies to local non-profits. And just as our clients vary widely in nature, so do our engineers’ work days, though typically they involve one or more of the following tasks:

• Gathering client requirements, evaluating options, and selecting and implementing technologies that best suit the client’s needs.
• Performing security, performance, and availability assessments.
• Designing, deploying, managing, and maintaining secure, scalable systems using technology from a variety of vendors.
• Researching, developing, and updating information security standards.
• Analyzing the functionality and operations of systems to determine adequate security, controls, and data integrity.
• Conducting IT security incident investigations.
• Learning (and sharing) new skills through independent research, formal training, and industry events.
