Sr Business Analyst- Loyalty

As an active member of Expedia’s Loyalty Analytics team, you will be tasked with delivering decision support to the Expedia business on all matters related to our Loyalty scheme. Your interest goes well beyond just pulling data and crunching numbers – you are excited to tackle complex business problems by converting raw data into meaningful and actionable business insights supporting our loyalty program development efforts. You will structure the problems, extract and analyze the data and present the findings to our internal clients. In addition, our analysts manage the communication and relationships with internal customers across Expedia Worldwide.

Responsibilities:
Provide incremental lift to Marketing performance over and above standard performance parameters by providing advanced marketing analysis, direction, tools and data.

Use customer data to enhance and extend Marketing insight by directly analyzing past and present customer behavior as a predictor of future behavior. Transform customer data into actionable corporate asset.

Assist managers and teams throughout the company to understand the power and value of an analytical approach to decision-making, and provide them with the insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the organization

Partner with multiple functions across the Expedia organization including, Loyalty, Product, Retail, Finance and Marketing.

Qualifications:
Experienced in modeling, statistical analysis, and business intelligence

Ability to professionally present and articulate the business value of complicated analysis to a diverse group of partners

Comfort and drive to mine and extract data from large data sets

Highly collaborative, used to working in a consensus driven culture

Comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity

Experience working in customer analytics.

Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
Demonstrated ability to work through complexity and partner with internal clients with a consultative approach.

Strong analytical/modeling skills with ability to convert data into concrete business recommendations.

Knowledge of SQL is required.

Experience with Hadoop preferred.

Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tool is preferred.

Experience with web analytics tools such as Omniture is preferred.

Expert proficiency in Excel required.

At least two years of professional work experience in an applicable role.

Degree in Business/economics/math/technical field or related discipline preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
