Speech Scientist/Text-To-Speech

JD.COM ( http://JD.COM ) AI Platform & Research Division, headed by the former chief scientist of IBM Watson, Bowen Zhou, is looking for speech scientists and engineers to join Silicon Valley R&D Center. JD’s AI research and platform Division focuses on AI algorithm innovation, expanding AI for retail infrastructures. You will join a team that is responsible for building and powering the voice-based applications at JD.COM ( http://JD.COM ). It’s an exciting opportunity to join our early stage speech team to work on text-to-speech synthesis, which enables apps to speak to you or read content aloud and opens up lots of different possibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience building and tuning state of the art parametric and/or unit selection Text-To-Speech systems
• 3+yrs of industry experience + MSc. or PhD degree in Computer Sciences, Machine Learning, or related technical field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or python and the ability to implement software and algorithms
• Experience working with machine learning techniques and toolkits such as TensorFlow, MxNet, or PyTorch
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Experience with domain adaptation in resource limited settings is a plus
• Product shipment experience in text-to-speech, speech recognition or natural language processing systems
