POSITION PURPOSE

Federally commissioned employee that conducts criminal, civil and administrative investigations and provides other law enforcement services.

Conducts liaison with outside agencies on the local, state and federal levels of government for the protection of TVA Critical Infrastructure and personnel.

Provides testimony in local, state and federal court.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Collaborates with outside agencies and participates in joint investigations related to Homeland Security, criminal, civil, and ARPA violations pertaining to TVA.

Provides law enforcement support to targeted enforcement operations and leads specialized law enforcement initiatives.

Serves on executive protection details and conducts advance support activities related to those details as required.

Displays familiarity with and utilizes available technology to gather evidence and develop cases on behalf of TVA in criminal, civil, and administrative matters.

Prepares prosecutive summary reports and provides testimony in local, state and federal court.

Gathers and analyzes raw intelligence information to share both internally and externally with outside law enforcement agencies.

Prepares and delivers reports and presentations to internal and external customers on threat assessments, investigations and security related issues pertaining to TVA.

Conducts and reports on background investigations in cooperation with Personnel Security.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY FACTORS

Education — Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited education institution; or equivalent education, training and experience.

Experience — Must have three or more years of law enforcement investigative experience.

Certification/Licenses/etc. — Must successfully complete assessments, including oral and written competency tests, psychological, medical, physical efficiency battery, background investigation, drug screening, firearms qualification test, and swim test.

Continued employment is contingent on successful completion of all phases of the Basic Law Enforcement Training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center; successful completion of all phases of the TVAP Field Training Program and satisfactory completion of a one-year probationary period (for new outsides hires); successful completion of annual in-service and emergency medical care training; successful completion of annual physical efficiency battery test; and satisfactory completion of other prescribed training after appointment.

Must be at least 21 years of age; a U.S. citizen not convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, controlled substances, or any criminal activity unbecoming an officer; and not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; must be able to obtain watercraft operator certification. Must be able to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance.

Must live within 45 miles of official station.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :

Must be self-motivated and possess demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.

Thorough knowledge of TVA’s objectives, policies, and programs;

Works independently and without direct supervision when required and completes multiple tasks simultaneously.

Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes and TVA regulations, codes, and instruction;

Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with all levels of personnel in government, industry and business, both internally and externally. Must meet fitness for duty standards to include a psychological evaluation.

  • FLETC certified instructor
  • Executive Protection Experience
  • Active Shooter Response and instructor experience
