Specialist – Cargo Operations

Summary: Serve as a subject matter expert for Cargo operations and mail performance.

• Continuously improve existing processes, analyses and reports to anticipate customers’ needs while automating as much as possible
• Lead process improvement and project management engagements to support improved cargo operations
• Analyze and report on changes that occur at a system level and report to divisional leadership the systemic impact of operational changes
• Seek out opportunities for automation by either partnering with IT or using business tools
• Communicate metrics, data discrepancies and methodology changes throughout the division
• Proactively utilize quality measures and corrective action systems to prevent reporting errors
• Develop guidelines and operating procedures as required to standardize cargo operations
• Support pro-active shipment failure identifications initiatives as needed
• Achieve expertise in Cargo processes as they relate to metrics
• Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all processes and procedures
• Support some non-standard shift work as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent work experience required
• Must have at least 3 years of related analytical work experience
• Must be proficient in MS Excel. Tableau, Hyperion, COGNOS proficiency preferred
• Working knowledge of relational databases, writes SQL / SAS -queries or uses equivalent tools preferred
• Must have technical, quantitative/analytical, organizational skills
• Must have the ability to manage competing priorities
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively through oral and written means
• Must have working knowledge and experience with Cargo operations and systems
