Special Events Coordinator

The Special Events Coordinator works in collaboration with the Director of Development and the Director of Marketing to plan, organize and implement all aspects of fund-raising events benefitting the EmBe organization in an effort to meet established goals.

  • Create or update a complete plan of key tasks and timelines for each assigned event.
  • Take initiative to identify and complete all event tasks including but not limited to sponsorships, event logistics, volunteer recruitment and management, registrations/ticket sales, silent-auctions, promotional materials and publicity, gift management, event budget and goals, and event vendors, for each assigned event.
  • Recruit and develop working committee structures to support and help achieve specific fundraising goals and special event activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of donor and volunteer information within the database.
  • Assist in building donor relations and identifying donor prospects.
  • Actively participate in the personal promotion of EmBe events via social media networks.
  • Track and report on event goals and accomplishments.
  • Participate in the creation of the annual development plan to include special events.
  • Actively participate in staff and board development committee meetings.
  • Represent EmBe favorably at all times.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four year degree in Marketing, Communications or other related field is preferred. A 2-year degree with a minimum 5 years related event planning work experience may substitute.
  • Two – four years paid event planning or non-profit experience is preferred.
  • Must be a professional, self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized individual.
  • Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Proficient in the use of information technology and management of database systems.
