Southeast Regional Sales Representative

Universal Separators, Inc., known throughout the metal working industry as SmartSkim, a small but growing Midwestern manufacturer of equipment for the filtration and recycling of industrial process fluids is looking for a Regional Sales Representative for the Southeast Region of the United States. SmartSkim is the recognized leader in machine coolant recycling, oil skimming and separating from parts washers, and the most comprehensive line of magnetic filtration options in the industry. We are a dynamic and lean company with a solid record of growth over the last 20 years.

The territory is comprised of 10 states and overnight travel is approximately 25-30%.

Competencies

  • Good Sales History
  • Some Engineering aptitude preferred
  • Understanding of Industrial Manufacturing Marketplace
  • Would like an individual with knowledge of metalworking industry
  • Ability to work on their own
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • History of building a territory or rep organization would be beneficial
  • Good Verbal and Written communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Willing to start at bottom and build territory up, having ownership of his/her territory
  • Computer skills and/or can be trained relatively easily
  • Focused but has flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing business environment

Candidate based near the Birmingham-Atlanta-Charlotte corridor would be ideal.

The responsibilities include developing and servicing the metalworking industry through 1) Direct Sales to End Users; 2) OEM Sales; and 3) the use of distributors and independent reps.

Compensation Package includes:

  • Base Salary + Commission
  • Reimbursement for travel expenses
  • Simple IRA with company match up to 3%
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Company vehicle after 90 days

Ideal candidate should have a solid sales history, with an aptitude for mechanical and chemical processes. An understanding of the industrial manufacturing marketplace/environment would be a plus. Has to be able to work independently and will report directly to VP of Sales. Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a motivation to grow the territory is a must.

Salary: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year

  • Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)
