Solutions Architect (Marketing)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solutions Architect to make a strategic impact across the enterprise.

The Global Center for Brand and Insights portfolio supports a wide variety of heavily-used applications to support marketing areas throughout the company. This includes a blend of internally developed applications as well as cloud solutions. Some of our key investments include:

• Our public website, www.principal.com , which is powered by Drupal.
• A global marketing automation service, delivered by Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• An enterprise wide front-end framework which allows us to deliver consistent user experiences across our digital interactions.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a strategic thinker and effectively create, influence and communicate technical solutions, strategies, and architectures to all levels and roles within our organization. The role will be joining a great team of digital marketing architects who work closely with our agile scrum teams and product management.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate’s degree when defining “equivalent work experience”
• Experience similar to one of the following:
• 4+ years of technical experience with specific contributions in the Marketing space
• 2+ years Solution Architecture experience
• 4+ years of technical experience with specific contributions in the design/architecture space
• Preferred skills (but not required):
• Experience in the Marketing domain not required, but highly preferred
• Experience with vendor integration techniques and patterns
• Service Oriented Architectures and related technologies (REST, SOAP, etc.)
• Development experience
• Front-end web development (i.e. JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS)
• Drupal, PHP
• Java development experience
• Experience defining architecture for a specific technical domain
• Modern web design
• Familiarity with Secure Software practices
• Exposure to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)·
• Core competencies for success:
• Business Savvy – able to translate between business drivers and technology solutions
• Informed on a broad range of technical topics and able to experiment with new technologies, prove the patterns, and document/promote the guidance
• Must be able to effectively influence and communicate technical plans, strategies, and architecture to all levels and roles within the organization
• Able to be a visionary thinker while also driving pragmatic solutions
• Effectively collaborate with architect peers and agile teams to become a go-to partner
• Able to drive to a solution when there aren’t clear black and white answers
• Committed to lifelong learning and able to learn new things independently and quickly
