Software/Solution Architect

Position Summary:

Critigen is looking for a Software/Solution Architect with the ability to handle software consulting projects from end to end. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a team of motivated consultants developing, customizing and deploying spatial solutions and applications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem solving abilities, has a thorough knowledge of the software development life cycle, has the ability to lead development teams, has experience leading client interface/communications and is comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.

Immediate project work in the greater New York area, with teleworking possibility. Travel will regularly be 50% to client sites in North America to work with project team and client contact(s) after initial project work is complete.

Primary Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to execute all phases of the custom software delivery process (design/build/test/release)
  • Strong programming, object oriented design and application development skills.
  • Experienced designing/developing web, mobile and distributed processing solutions.
  • Experience with large scale data/software integration projects.
  • Metadata-driven software design & development
  • Web service design & development
  • Data modeling / database design
  • Experienced creating and delivering technical software documentation/artifacts needed to support approval of custom software solutions.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum and / or Kanban methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline required, MS preferred
  • 10 years of application development experience
  • Windows (Store, UWP) / iOS / Android development a plus
  • Experience with C#, Objective-C / Swift, Java, JavaScript and SQL (Microsoft & Oracle)
  • Experience with GIS, remote sensing and related technologies
  • Experience designing enterprise solutions with ESRI technology a plus
  • Experience with SAP modules and integration of applications with SAP stack a plus
  • Self-starter, team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion
  • Strong organizational skills and collaboration skills required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to translate business requirements to a proposed technical solution
  • Experience and exposure to asset intensive industries desirable, such as utilities, oil and gas, and transportation
