We are seeking a Software Engineer with Java focused. This position designs, implements, documents, and maintains internally and externally-facing web applications; works with BSA team to define data, workflow and usability requirements.

Primary Functions:
1. Works with project managers, team members, and business analysts to define requirements for applications targeted for the corporate internet/intranet.

2. Designs web interfaces and processes to incorporate data from backend systems.

3. Creates and unit tests code using Java EE.

4. Documents designs, code and data flows.

5. Maintains and enhances internet/intranet applications. Provides technical support to application administrators.

6. Resolves problems with vendor technical support.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

2. Solid understanding of web technologies and programming languages.

3. 3+ years computer programming experience in Java EE. Experience with Web Services, JSF, Spring, Struts, and Hibernate is desirable.

4. Solid background in client/server programming and relational database systems.

5. Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and detail orientation skills.

6. Keep abreast of current and emerging Internet and development technologies.

7. Work well under pressure with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.

8. Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image.

9. Ability to be on call.

We are looking for a creative and innovative Software Engineer to design, develop, and install next generation software applications. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop software solutions conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate analysis, define requirements, and develop and propose solutions
  • Develop and document solutions using flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Design and program system specifications and standards.
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Obtain software licenses from vendors, recommend purchases, then test and approve products
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize development and service issues.
  • Test the product in controlled, real situations before going live.
  • Assist with the preparation of training manuals for users
  • System maintenance
  • Complete related tasks as needed

What Is Required To Be Successful In This Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer; demonstrating successful development using a variety of software systems
  • 3+ years of experience developing data-driven applications utilizing significant relational and non-relational database engines
  • Experience with any or all of the following is highly desirable: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and MariaDB
  • Experience writing Java and JavaScript
  • Some familiarity with Java Enterprise APIs:
  • Java Persistence API (JPA)
  • Java Server Faces (JSF)
  • Experience with JSON, XML, AJAX and jQuery

Do You Also Have These Skills?

  • Knowledge of Node.js and attributed frameworks (Angular/React/Backbone etc.)
  • Knowledge of REST API development, deployment, security, and maintenance
  • Experience with Microservice/Service Oriented Architectures
  • Experience with or developing CRMs/ERPs or other complex enterprise applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including team and partnership building
  • Be a self-starter, proactive, assertive, and able to express ideas in a variety of atmospheres
  • Proficiency in translating high-level requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Must possess strong analytical and technical skills
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices
