Software Engineer intern

TourMega (http://tourmega.com) is an exciting new travel startup that’s looking to disrupt the tours and activities space. We’re search engine for tours and activities around the world (Kayak for Tours and Activities).

Our platform centralizes a very large and fragmented market and provides travelers a tool to search for, compare, and book tours and activities. Our machine learning algorithms recommend tours with high affinity to our users based on their travel interests.

We currently have over 90,0000 tours and activities in over 4,000 cities, 190 countries, and on 6 continents. We will be doubling our inventory over the coming months with the goal of having the largest and most diverse supply in the industry by the end of year.

We’re looking for a computer science graduate intern who wants to help us with the following things:

• Web scraping – How to collect data from different websites, process them, and turn them into your data
• Collecting data via API
• Integrate search data into your search servers like elasticsearch
• Build a recommendation system using machine learning algorithms like NLP, data entity extra extractions, etc
• Build and add many features to our web app that runs on Ruby on Rails.

Qualifications:

• You’re pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related fields
• You have some basic programming background and experience
• You love to travel
• Knowledge of Machine Learning or Web Scraping is a huge plus
• Knowledge Regular expression, javascript skills is a plus
• Knowledge or experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus
