Software Engineer III Opportunity Overview
The Software Engineer III for Banner Bank is part of the Information Technology team and reports to the Business Systems Integration Manager. In this role you will work on a team designing, assessing, and troubleshooting software programs and applications supporting the operational, tactical and strategic objectives of the business enterprise.
As a Software Engineer III for Banner Bank, you will have the opportunity to:
Collaborate with others in the development and implementation of new systems and applications
Implement quality assurance of program logic, data processing, and error resolution
Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
Lead cross-functional team in the development of new programs, enhancements, and problem resolutions for systems and applications.
Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development products, languages, standards, and best practices
Develop and implement plans and procedures for the proper controls of software development
Train and provide guidance to other software development staff
Guide and advise teams to perform work in compliance with technology standards, processes, regulatory guidelines, management directives and company policies relating to the development and maintenance of application systems, including IT governance, change management practices, project development life cycle, data management and information security
Oversee the quality assurance of program logic, data processing, and error resolution

Travel: Less than 5% overnight travel

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in business environment preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in enterprise level application development preferred

Required Skills

  • Ability to develop solutions to meet goals and strategies, selecting methods and techniques based on experience and judgment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and programming where overall business objectives are broadly defined
  • Advanced skills in programming languages, preferably C#, ASP.net, and Transact SQL
  • Extensive SQL data base and operating systems experience including SSIS, SSAS, And SSRS
  • Experience with current releases of platforms such and Windows SharePoint Services, Internet Information Server, MS Office SharePoint, Windows Server, Windows, VMware, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server

Position: Software Engineer III
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duties : Draw on advanced proficiency with Java, XML, Rest Services, SOAP Services, MVC Framework, and Spring to analyze, design, code, implement and debug an enterprise system’s entire suite of components with emphasis on supporting and troubleshooting complex business and technical problems. Act as subject matter expert on a system’s functionality, behavior and capabilities, and during coding. Assist software engineering teams during the quality assurance phase of the development cycle. Supervise the systems’ Production rollout. Participate in the selection and/or creation of tools for design, modeling, programming, debugging, testing, diagnostics, monitoring, profiling, operations, logging, reporting, security checking, or analysis. Participate in third-party system analysis to identify potential implementations and integrations. Provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact other teams or the company at large. Research and propose new technologies. Own the technical testing and performance plan for projects. Set direction at the project/service level and influence decision-making at the top level of team. Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting team. Communicate standards and get buy-in on solutions. Mentor less experienced software engineers in team. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus five years of post-bachelor’s software development experience reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill set described above. Salary: one hundred fifteen thousand dollars per year.
