Position Summary and Essential Duties

Under limited supervision, code and unit test changes to complex computer programs from program specifications. Support test execution for additional levels of testing including system level and integration tests. Documents and maintains those programs. Job Specific Information

The API Management and Cloud Enablement team is responsible for architecting and building core integration and hosting capabilities including the development of key platforms that support our service oriented architecture and cloud migration. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop and consume SOA Web Services using Cloud native principles at an enterprise scale.

This position can be domiciled in Brookfield, WI, Collierville, TN or Lakeland, FL. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Considered a Plus

Design, develop and implement enterprise scale solutions to support the organization’s business strategy and goals.

Communicate with architects and business partners to fully understand requirements, provide feedback, and request clarification as needed.

Demonstrated experience with development and testing of Web applications using Java, J2EE technologies including: J2EE Weblogic application server. Relational Databases like Oracle. Web Services technologies. Linux operating systems. Java Frameworks: Spring, Spring Cloud CI/CD pipeline and tools Agile Knowledge of Cloud-Native Application Architecture

Samsung R&D Lab in Bellevue, WA is looking for talented Software Architect Engineer for driving and creating our next generation software and services in the cloud and across devices.

Established in 2011 as a Samsung oversea R&D center, the lab owns advanced technology collaboration with wireless carriers in the broad communication, computing, and entertainment domains covering technologies such as mobile wireless, big data, AR/VR, and AI. The lab is also responsible for Samsung solution and innovation ideation and development, carrier technical requirement analysis, architecture design and feature implementation of software services. We need experienced software architect who are passionate about mobile technologies, software and services in the mobile and cloud space, as well as creating cutting edge innovations for Samsung’s next generation products and services.

A Software Architect Engineer will play a technical lead role in many aspects of software engineering, ranging from cloud based service development to device side software development. The role will lead deep technical activities such as Samsung solution ideation, design and development, carrier requirement analysis, architectural design and implementation, as well as debugging and resolving device issues across OS layers and across devices and cloud-to-cloud. The role is expected to provide technical guidance to junior engineers on software architecture, design patterns, engineering best practice for code quality, unit testing, test automation, stability, performance, security as well as task prioritization and professional communication internally and externally.

Job Duties

  • As a technical architect, keep up to date with the industry’s technology trend with deep technical insight and hands-on practice, lead Samsung innovation ideation and proof-of-concept for new services across devices and in the cloud.
  • Provide architectural technical guidance to team members to perform deep requirement analysis and software design. Provide implementation and test planning guidance throughout the entire engineering process by leveraging deep expertise in both cloud based service development (Node.js, Cassandra, Kafka, Storm, Spark, Flumen, etc) and broad mobile embedded system areas such as Android application performance, Android Framework, mobile OS internals, Linux kernel, system battery performance, system stability, and so on.
  • Evaluate internal engineering process and identify improvement for better software quality and shorter time to market.

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Qualifications

  • Industry candidates are required to have at least 8 years of work experience on mobile embedded systems (Android preferred) or large-scale cloud based service development.
  • Candidates with demonstrable expertise and potential in emerging technologies such as software and services in the cloud and on devices, big data platform and analytics, machine learning and deep learning will be preferable.
  • Fluent in C/C++, Java, Python and server side programming languages. Expertise with object-oriented design and development mandatory.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundamentals of computer science – operating systems, data structures, algorithms, and TCP/IP networking concept–is mandatory.
  • Strong sense of project ownership required. Self-motivated and comfortable to learn and solve complicated problems in new technical areas under pressure.
  • Minimally Master degree in Computer Science is required. Industry candidate with 10+ years of experience can also be considered.
