Software Engineer II Info Systems – ETL/SSIS Developer

Purpose:
The ETL/SSIS developer will be working on a new BI implementation project and supporting the current production environment.

Essential job duties and responsibilities:
Designs solutions to meet requirements utilizing best practices for applications and infrastructure.

• Develops moderate to complex solutions with minimal support or direction from more senior engineers and architects.
• Develops code for individual components of multi-tier applications, maintains documentation of code, and performs maintenance and support activities.
• From functional requirements and an understanding of the business, performs domain analysis to ensure the solution provides consistency with domain vocabulary, boundaries, entities, and processes. Achieves long-term reuse by modeling the right concepts at a suitable level of detail.
• Provides technical documentation relating to system design, application deployment planning, and production support requirements.
• Plays a significant role in reviewing others’ documentation.
• Reflects changes in business entities and processes in go-forward analysis and system documentation.

Required skills and experience:
Five (5) years of experience designing and developing ETL solutions Three (3) years of experience with SSIS Three (3) years of experience working in a complex ETL/Data Warehousing environment Two (2) years of experience with Informatica Expert knowledge in writing SQL queries, stored procedures and functions Expert knowledge in Data warehousing concepts, tools and methodologies Comprehensive understanding of the data processing environment, its impact on business functions is required Must be able to translate functional requirements into long term sustainable technical solutions Must be able to work on both development and production support efforts Strong communication skills. Should be clearly articulate techincal details to different audiences

Strong technical, logical, analytical and problem solving skills is required Should be a team player and willing to share and collaborate with other team members
