Software Engineer – Back End

As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll primarily be developing and maintaining features of our API and internal tools. On any given day you might be working on new features for our customers, couriers or merchants-refactoring existing code to be more scalable and performant. We need engineers who aren’t afraid to attack deep technical challenges as well as have a meaningful role in product development.

Our backend infrastructure is primarily Python, Django and Go. We like to use the full set of tools and services available to us from Amazon Web Services to build out new functionality in a service-oriented environment. We value fullstack, generalist, and specialized engineers looking to expand their capabilities. You will be developing new services and deploying them within an immutable infrastructure. We want people that will get their hands dirty to understand our mobile and web clients; with a healthy interest in Javascript, Objective-C, Swift and Java.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write robust application code that powers the company’s demanding mobile and web-based client APIs
• Refactor existing software and functionality into discrete services
• Build prototypes to quickly demonstrate new features and product ideas
• Work closely within a product-focused team of engineers, designers and product managers
• Participate in code reviews
• Participate in team on-call schedule

Salary: $140,000.00 to $175,000.00 /year
