Software Engineer

Software Engineer Job Posting:

xCraft is the fastest growing drone manufacturer in the Northwest. Our mission is to develop powerful flying machines that change the world. We are looking for a rock star software engineer with excellent design skills who has the ability to learn quickly and adapt to this fast-paced environment. This person will be a vital part in our UAV development team. Experience is a plus, but recent college graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering or other technical field.

Required skills and experience:

• Coding: C, C#, C++,Objective C, Swift, Java, Kotlin, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, SolidWorks
• Software functional design (flow charts/requirements/sketches, etc.)
• Proficient in source code management; version control workflow across a team
• Understanding of mobile app release processes; App Store, Play Store
• IDE: XCode, Android Studio, Sublime/VS Code/Atom/etc
• VCS software: Git CLI, SourceTree
• UI design, prototyping, testing: Sketch / Photoshop / Figma / XD / InVision Studio / etc
• Work in software teams (Mobile, Web, Firmware) and coordinate with Project Managers
• Follow schedules, budgets, and allocation of resources to various projects
• Coordinate with outside software resources when needed
• Understanding design requirements and ensuring design objectives are met
• Appropriately balancing design efficiency, product cost, and manufacturability in design
• Demonstrated ability to organize/ prioritize work, multi-task, manage time, and effectively communicate
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Google Suite
• Strong work ethic and team player

Desired skills and experience:

• Project Management
• Agile/ Scrum
• Aerospace- related education/ experience a plus
• R/C experience
• Hybrid VTOL design experience
• Electrical lab experience- logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
• Drone development using open-source tools (Pixhawk, PX4, ArduPilot)
• Embedded systems and micro controller programming
• Data acquisition, signal processing, and instrumentation
• Solid Modeling
• I.T. skills
