The Role:

As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers to architect core aspects of Guidant software applications and the overall flow of data across our entire technology stack. This entails devising solutions for proprietary Guidant software and addressing software related problems to help reach business goals. You will also work on UI/UX design and spend time on front end web development, integrations, testing and deployment.

What You’ll Do:

• Work as part of an agile team to build market-leading digital lending solutions for small businesses nationwide.
  
• Write clean well thought out code with an emphasis on quality, simplicity, testability and maintainability.
  
• Build new, web based applications and accompanying APIs to help thousands of entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.
  
• Work closely with our Product Owner to drive new feature creation, software testing and quality assurance.
  

• Work as part of our technology team to further our efforts around performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
  
• Apply engineering principles to solve complex problems while leveraging sound engineering practices.
  
• Review external solutions and provide technical assessments.

Requirements

• :
  
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping high performance and scalable systems and services.
  
  • Comfortable working with databases like SQL Server and MySQL
  
  • Understanding of/the ability to pick up new software, frameworks and API’s
  
  • Excellent data driven approach to software engineering, design, coding, debugging, problem solving and analytical skills with a solid understanding of testing practices.
  
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with a solid understanding of testing practices.
  
  • Experience and knowledge in how to consume RESTful APIs and frameworks for web delivery of data.
  
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services, OAuth
  
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
  
  • In-depth knowledge of the following programming languages: C#, PHP, ASP.Net MVC
  
• Working knowledge of HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience working in an agile development environment.
  
• Experience with SFDC and Salesforce Object Query Language.
  
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud PaaS.
  
• Strong background in Database design and data tools – SSIS, ETLs..
  
• Experience in some of the following: angular.js, less, bootstrap, jquery, ajax, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, unit testing, web performance tools, CMS systems, etc.
  
• Experience in building, maintaining, and supporting server environments with dedicated hosting providers.
