Software Engineer

Summary of Role

Do you have a passion for Open Source software? Excited about what Puppet is doing and want to be a part of it? Do you want to be part of a team that is creating tools for Puppet Developers and Practitioners? Then this is the job for you.

The goal of the Puppet Developer Experience team is to create solutions that enable developers to contribute hiqh quality content to the Puppet Ecosystem. This is accomplished through the enhancement of existing Puppet Practitioner tools, the development of an SDK, open source contributions and community engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to help create tools that will be put to use by other developers in the Puppet Ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • You have knowledge and experience (3+ years) of high level programming languages like ruby, python, java, etc.
  • You have development experience building developer services, including SDK, IDE and command line interfaces.
  • You are a believer in thoroughly testing software, automate that testing and believe that better QA drives better quality. You have experience with test automation frameworks and continuous integration.
  • Being an active member of open source communities is something you cherish, and you have experience helping community members advance their code.
  • You are not dogmatic about technology choices. You understand that what matters is using the right tool for the job at hand.
  • You understand and use distributed version control systems such as git.
  • Experience working in a continuous integration and delivery environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of full time experience in a software development role
  • BSCS or equivalent or relevant industry experience.
