iContact is seeking a Software Engineer to help own the iContact product as we add dramatic new functionality. This position will join a converged team of existing developers, system, database, UX, and operations engineers who value working together to solve big problems. We work in PHP, but anyone with experience in other mainstream languages (Java, C#/.net, Python, Ruby, etc) is welcome. If you have experience building a highly scaled SaaS product, and long for an awesome team environment and culture, then you will definitely be interested in this role.

The Job:

• Work to develop our email marketing platform using PHP, jQuery, and CKEditor.
• Write clean, maintainable code using engineering best practices (source control, continuous integration, code reviews, unit testing, etc…). Cowboy coders need not apply.
• Build fast, scalable web applications. Our large global base sends millions of messages daily and they expect high performance.
• Enable integration with third parties by leveraging their API’s and extending our own API to allow customers to get all the benefit of our application.
• Participate in feature refinement and design elegant solutions to provide maximum business value.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement product features in a fast-paced environment following agile development methodology.
• Work closely with QA and other team members to deliver work to internal stakeholders as early as possible.
• Provide insight to the operations team to assist in performance management.

You have:

• Minimum of 1-3 years work experience building software in a SaaS environment.
• Comfort with working in HTML5, jQuery, and CSS.
• Experience building web apps that look great and perform across devices – desktop and mobile. Mobile app development a plus.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts. You should be familiar with common design patterns.
• Experience working with relational databases at scale. MySQL experience is a plus.
• An understanding of the difference between unit, functional, and integration tests and know how to employ them pragmatically.
• Passion for building modern, intuitive and elegant software solutions for complex problems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related discipline)
