About Alteryx Innovation Labs

The Innovation Labs office was started in 2019 by the acquisition of MIT-spinout Feature Labs . This rapidly growing team combines the excitement of being part of a fast-paced, innovative startup with the resources, market penetration, and wisdom of a data analytics market leader. Our goal is to turbo-charge machine learning and data science efforts on the Alteryx platform, and to enable anyone to solve dynamic problems. We are working on high-impact, high-visibility projects, and we’re looking for collaborative and knowledge-hungry teammates who want to join us as we work to democratize analytics automation .

Position Overview:

As a full-time member of our engineering team you will:

Contribute to open source technologies and tools

Develop code that may be included in our next release

Bui ld and implement new features or tools

Help us innovate and design next generation technologies

Actively participate in code review sessions

Ensure scalable, quality code through unit and functional testing

You’ll have the opportunity to make impact across a wide range of projects. Some example projects we’ve worked on include:

A user of our open source python library, Featuretools , proposes an idea for interesting new functionality. You work to implement it, so it can benefit thousands of our users around the world.

Using React and Bootstrap you create an interface for subject matter experts to control our automated feature engineering algorithm from our web app. To get this done, you collaborate with our backend developers to design a new API to expose the endpoints you need to build it.

Using big data technologies like Spark or Dask you replicate our existing API, so we can scale out our data processing to extremely large datasets without disrupting users.

Using Docker containers, you make it as easy to deploy Feature Labs on-premise for a large enterprise customer as it is for use to deploy to Amazon Web Services.

Required Skills:

Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and should not require visa sponsorship now or in the future

Previous experience in Python and/or Javascript

Passion for open source software (no prior experience required)

Ability to learn quickly and work autonomously with appropriate mentorship, support, and guidance from your manager

Valued Skills:

Students in pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field whom are graduating between December 2020 through Summer 2021

Software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, personal projects, hackathons, and/or coding competitions
