Software Development Engineer in Test

Proprio is a Seattle startup developing a system for real-time immersive video and mediated reality interaction. We develop cutting edge algorithms and custom hardware to enhance human capabilities in high precision activities such as spine and brain surgery.

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled software engineering team responsible for developing products in the medical device space. We are seeking a candidate with proven embedded systems experience and automation skills to partner with the engineering and product teams to build system-level test automation, execute automated tests and perform manual tests.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement and improve test methodologies, test plans and test cases

Create, deploy and maintain automated system tests

Review bug descriptions, functional requirements and design documents

Work in an agile and expedited project structure

Create tools and test infrastructure for development to utilize in the development process

Track and create test-suites and protocols for system level verification and validation

Work alongside the development and program management teams to track overall quality of the production development stack towards market readiness

Qualifications – Required

3+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Development Testing

Experience in C++, C#, Python or similar languages

Experience with DevOps tools (i.e Azure DevOps/TFS)

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously

Prior experience with both automation and manual testing

Ability to work independently and with a team successfully

Flexible, positive and a great communicator

Ability to positively connect with team members, colleagues and the wider organization

Qualifications – Preferred

Experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts, libraries and frameworks

Medical device experience preferred

Experience collaborating with remote development teams
