Are you a software developer with practical, hands-on experience supporting cloud platforms in the DevOps model? Do you have a deep understanding of AWS cloud tools, Infrastructure as Code, CICD and the associated tools and languages? Expedia is searching for a talented developer with proven ability building CICD solutions, configuration management systems and automated cloud applications.

Join Expedia and work with a team of engineers to build continuous deployment using AWS, Jenkins and other CICD technologies and languages. Our CICD solutions are rapidly evolving as we take the next step in empowering our development teams to continuously deliver. We need your help to develop CICD pipelines that meet the needs of an agile, dynamic development team.

If you love being part of a team and working the “DevOps way,” we’d like to get to know you. In this role, you’ll work together with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems and streamline our operations using Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud automation.

As part of our systems engineering team, you’ll support global applications and services used by customers and call center agents that are developed and delivered by teams who own not only the applications, but also support the processes and environments to deliver them. You will work to enhance existing pipelines supporting everything from traditional .Net and Java web applications to microservice deployments and design and build new CICD pipelines for growing set of applications designed to automate our customer’s journey and provide an effortless experience.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with multiple teams across organizations to partner in design and delivery of automated deployment solutions.

Define, design, and implement strategies to improve the cycle time and quality of our cloud-based continuous delivery system.

Contribute to the development of CICD solutions using Ruby, Python, Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Docker, AWS cloud services and other continuous delivery technologies.

Understand security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation and automate these processes through Infrastructure as Code.

Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems in the cloud to provide organizational visibility to the health, availability and performance of our pipelines.

Build reporting capabilities to showcase operational health and quality.

Provide technical support, identification, troubleshooting, and resolution to issues and impacts.

Operate as a team member on new releases and deliveries of applications and services.

Drive a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Operationally support CICD systems across multiple environments.

Scripting: Python, Ruby, Node.js, JSON, YAML, Shell Scripting

Database: SQL Server, RDS

Operating Systems: Linux (CentOS), Windows

Web Servers: NGINX, Apache, IIS

DevOps Tools: Bit Bucket, GitHub, Git, Bamboo, Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, Cloud Formation

Container technologies – Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS

Monitoring/Logging: Splunk, Application Dynamics, CloudWatch

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail

Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills

Education: Bachelors in Computer Science
