Job Summary

The IT Services team is responsible for maintaining a high quality and productive environment for our client’s Hardware Engineering groups. We directly support the Engineers by providing: high performance computing resources, storage systems, web and file collaboration services, tools, licenses, databases, and workflow optimization. IT Services team is seeking a software developer to join our team. The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes extreme pride in their work.

Key Qualifications

5+ years of rapid development, using HTML, Ruby on Rails, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, SQL, REST APIs, AJAX, SOAP, etc.

Very Strong in Ruby, Ruby on Rails and related components to develop and maintain production web applications.

A solid understanding of application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Experienced with Git and integration skills

Familiarity with Configuration Management (Puppet or equivalent) and technologies like Memcached, Redis, Resque, RSpec a plus

Strong communication and writing skills.

Ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and clients while leading development to a completed and successful solution.

Strong organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of clients’ timelines and budgets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Creation and maintenance of tools used by ITS and customers of ITS.

Development of robust and user-friendly applications.

Routine daily maintenance of existing sites and applications handling bug fixes and feature enhancement

Description

Assist in gathering requirements and project specifications Attend project kickoff meetings with clients. Take ownership of daily project needs and communications. Communicate project status and deliverables with managers and clients. Record time daily. Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication. Perform routine site maintenance as needed. Other tasks as needed for successful project completion.

Education

MS/BS Degree or equivalent.
