Our team builds distributed services that handle planning, provisioning, life cycle management and security of our network infrastructure. We are reimagining the traditional planning, provisioning and life cycle management of our network infrastructure to provide strong guarantees of security and availability with our new large scale distributed services. Our services expose highly available, software defined networking (SDN) capabilities to our elastic compute customers.

We’re looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own software development of major features in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure SDN suite. You should be comfortable with TCP/IP networking, network management and development in a wide variety of languages ranging from C/++ to Java, Python and Ruby. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Entry Level Application developer profile:

Basic Qualifications:

– Proficient at programming in C/C++, Java, Python

– Comfortable with TCP/IP networking and related protocols

– Bachelors in Computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields

Preferred Qualifications:

– 3+ years of experience in development of large scale distributed applications / web services

– Prior development experience with Network configuration management, skills with Perl and Ruby a plus

– Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
