Job Description

This is a great opportunity to get involved on the ground floor of numerous software and process automation projects.

The company has doubled in size in the last 7 years and continues to grow. As a result of this growth, we added an IT Administrator/Application Developer roughly 1 year ago. The position has been a big success and the company sees the value in adding additional staff to make further advancements in the development of software applications to support the business.

We are also deploying iPads to our 100 field technicians in 2017 that will give technicians access to these applications, most of which are web based at this point.

This position will also support the applications that are developed and also have some involvement with the support of our IT infrastructure and server administration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Builds new solutions with one or more of ASP.NET, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Windows Forms, .NET/C#, and MSSQL Server 2014 and maintains existing applications and business processes
  • Tests and documents new applications, changes, and interacts with team members.
  • Assist in the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company’s desktop environment and server administration
  • Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing support/usability of system hardware and software

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) from college or university
  • 3+ years hands on experience with the following
  • C#, MVC, HTML/JavaScript/CSS for designing and developing applications, UI, interfaces and web services
  • SQL
  • Fundamental understanding of object-oriented concepts and design patterns
  • Design and develop custom applications for iOS, Android, Windows and the web is a plus
  • Knowledge and/or experience, Microsoft office, Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environment, SharePoint, MS SQL Server using SSRS and SSIS, IIS servers, and Exchange
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, structured process improvement, and problem-solving capability
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Traveling required 10 -20% (Mostly in Ohio)

Compensation

Compensation will vary based on experience and qualifications. Silco has annual compensation raises based on merit.
