This is an entry level position, and we are NOT offering relocation, so we will only review local candidates for this position.

The primary responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to) the daily support of Greystone Hotels’ Digital Marketing and Sales efforts focusing on Social Media.

Assist the Vice President, Marketing Communications in the creation and execution of social media strategy. This position will also strongly support the Marketing Coordinator on a daily basis, as needed.

Highlighted below are the primary responsibilities of the position.

The Social Media Manager will:

  • Support to the Vice President Marketing Communications and marketing team across all digital channels, outlets and offerings
  • Maintain individual hotel and Greystone social media pages across all popular channels including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, YouTube and Pinterest
  • Develop and manage an on-going Social Media Content Strategy and Calendar (this will include the ongoing evaluation of social media channels)
  • Execute various paid social campaigns on a consistent basis, using custom audiences and paid social best practices.
  • Manage and reporting of social media budgets for all Greystone properties, ensuring social media accounts do not go over allocated budget spend. This requires weekly reporting to VP Marketing Communications
  • Maintain and update the Greystone Hotels Blog and Staff Blog. Write and post all blog text and photos, with input from Hotel General Managers and their staffs, keeping the content fresh and interesting
  • Offer ongoing strategic and creative plans, reports, and endeavors that move the Digital Marketing Department forward
  • Assist Marketing Coordinator with the updating and maintenance of collateral materials used in company sales and marketing efforts. This includes proofing, revising, and some copywriting of collateral, e-mail newsletters and web content produced for internal and external use.
  • Monitor and report on competitor websites and digital marketing efforts
  • Develop, update and maintain an event calendar
  • Ensure consistent Social Media best practices are followed on a continued basis.
  • Learn and understand the hotel and hospitality marketplace on an ongoing basis
  • Stay up-to-date on industry news, best practices, events and emerging technologies

In addition to the position’s primary responsibilities related to social media, marketing and e-commerce, the position includes the following administrative duties:

  • Day to day support in the Greystone Executive office which may at times include answering the phones, responding to voicemail and distributing and responding to messages in a timely manner. Organize and order supplies and files, monitor and distribute incoming mail.
  • Ongoing effort to learn and grow around all aspects of the digital marketing sphere in coordination with VP Marketing Communications and Marketing Coordinator.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $38.50 to $47.50 /hour
