Social Media Coordinator

Summary: Support the property’s presence in social media by assisting the Social Media Supervisor and executing a variety of Social Media (SM) duties. Responsible for generating content, drafting, scheduling, posting and monitoring SM content and responding to fan/follower comments, reviews and complaints. Assist in executing internal strategies for social media projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Generate quality SM content by shooting compelling photos and video clips around property
  • Attend and cover special events and promotions in the casino and elsewhere on property
  • Assist with proactive planning of SM calendar content in BaseCamp – ensuring that schedule is continuously built one month in advance
  • Ensure that edits from Supervisor, Manager and SM Consultant are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Encourage and engage operations teams to submit interesting, quality visual content from their respective areas for social media consideration
  • Employ quality control/brand standards and maintain the approved Stratosphere “voice” tonality and personality in generating verbal and visual content for SM
  • Schedule Twitter via Sprout Social Dashboard, and post natively on Facebook and Instagram
  • Use monthly performance SM metrics reports (provided by SM consultant) as ongoing learning opportunity to adapt and improve engagement and reach per SM channel
  • Assist with execution and fulfillment of social media contests and surveys
  • Compose at least 50% of SM posts
  • Respond to Facebook Private Messages and Reviews (both positive and negative) from guests on a daily basis
  • Respond to Twitter content in a timely basis (both positive and negative)
  • Obtain contact information from guest complaints on SM and relay to appropriate Operations teams in a timely basis
  • Respond on behalf of Stratosphere to a minimum of 20 Tripadvisor and 20 Yelp reviews monthly
  • Act as a brand listening/monitoring service
  • Help maintain and organize the Social Media content library
  • Use the various SM channels to drive followers to our website for more info
  • Support property attractions and venues in SM Channels
  • Reports directly to Social Media Supervisor and Marketing Manager
  • Monitor and report on new SM tools, trends, applications and opportunities
  • Create goodwill and positive perception among our SM fans, followers and hotel guests
  • Promote Stratosphere in a positive, professional manner
  • Remain flexible in work schedule, as events and opportunities frequently fall outside of scheduled hours
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor towards guests and employees as Stratosphere’s SM ambassador
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • One or more years of proven success within a similar role involving social media
  • Strong computer and Social Media/Internet skills: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Sprout Social, Basecamp and other social media management tools preferred.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, editing and written/verbal communication skills
  • Adept with use of SmartPhone for photo and video capture editing and apps
  • An ability to work well with others and diplomacy are important in dealing with operations teams
  • Ability to communicate thoughts effectively in one-on-one and small group situations. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
