Social Media and Web Specialist

The overall purpose of this job is to plan and implement communications and marketing strategies through social media and web platforms.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

40% Establishes, maintains and manages all primary social media accounts for the College. Produces, edits, updates and posts relevant, engaging content on a variety of online platforms. Monitors analytics and

SEO

to optimize social media strategy. Stays up-to-date on new digital innovations and their impact on marketing and student recruitment.

25% Creates and implements strategic digital marketing campaigns.

20% Assists the Webmaster with content management and maintenance on the College’s web site. Produces, edits, updates and posts content.

10% Produces photography and videography for social media and digital media campaigns.

5% Maintains, monitors and distributes promotional materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, social media or related field
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ full-time work experience in social media strategy, marketing, communications, public relations or related field (Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics

A. Proficiency in a variety of social media channels and tools, including, but not limited to: Facebook, HootSuite, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube

B. Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills

C. Excellent writing and editing skills

D. Proficiency in basic photography and videography, as well as basic photo and video editing tools

E. Basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

F. Proficiency with Google Analytics and working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization

G. Proficiency with content management and writing content for the web

H. Excellent organizational skills

I. Working knowledge of current web standards, including, but not limited to: WCAG2.0,

CSS

and

XHTML

J. Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

K. Ability to work well with a team as well as independently

L. Commitment to accuracy, creativity, honesty and attention to detail

M. Positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic

N. Self-motivated

Pay Rate

$35,330-$43,400.00/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application including the Beginning and Ending Dates.
